About

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of its archbishop. Completed in 1914, it is renowned for interior mosaics covering more than 83,000 square feet, one of the largest mosaic collections in the world. Pope John Paul II elevated it to a minor basilica during his 1997 visit to the United States.
