Community of Christ is a Restorationist denomination rooted in the Latter Day Saint movement, headquartered in Independence, Missouri. It separated from the main body led by Brigham Young after the 1844 death of founder Joseph Smith and was known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until adopting its current name in 2001. The denomination ordains women, practices open communion, and its Independence Temple and Auditorium form its international headquarters complex.
