The Grande Mosquée de Paris was built between 1922 and 1926 in a Hispano Moorish style, funded by the French state in recognition of the Muslim colonial troops killed in the First World War. It holds daily and Friday prayers, and its courtyard, tea room and hammam are open to visitors.
