The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation is the oldest of the eleven Greek Orthodox parishes in the state of Maryland, established in 1906. The congregation purchased and renovated its current granite building, originally built in 1889-1890 for a different Protestant congregation, consecrating it in 1938; the parish was designated the cathedral for Maryland in 1975. It operates under the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
