Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) is the seminary of the Reform movement, ordaining rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators. Founded in Cincinnati in 1875 by Isaac Mayer Wise, it is the oldest extant Jewish seminary in the Americas. HUC-JIR today also maintains campuses in New York, Los Angeles, and Jerusalem.
