The Independent Presbyterian Church of Savannah, founded in 1755, is the oldest Presbyterian congregation in Georgia and traces its roots to Church of Scotland settlers granted land by King George II. Its Bull Street sanctuary, rebuilt in 1891 after an 1889 fire, is modeled on the original 1819 building and remains a Savannah landmark.
