The Manila Cathedral in Intramuros is the seat of the Archbishop of Manila and a minor basilica. A cathedral has stood on the site since 1581 and the present building, the eighth, was finished in 1958 after the ruin of the district in 1945. It keeps a daily and Sunday Mass schedule and is used for the principal liturgies of the archdiocese.
