The Orthodox Union (OU), formally the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, is the largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization in the United States, representing several hundred member congregations. It is widely known for OU Kosher certification and also runs NCSY youth outreach, Yachad disability-inclusion programs, and public-policy advocacy. The OU was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in New York City.
