Samaritan's Purse is an evangelical Christian relief organization founded in 1970 by Bob Pierce and led since 1979 by Franklin Graham, providing emergency aid, medical care, and disaster response worldwide "in the name of Jesus Christ." It runs Operation Christmas Child, a global shoebox-gift program, alongside disaster-relief deployments and the DC-3 medical-evacuation aircraft fleet. Its headquarters are located in Boone, North Carolina, where it opened its permanent campus in 1987.
