The Society for Humanistic Judaism (SHJ) is the umbrella organization for Humanistic Judaism, a movement combining Jewish culture and identity with a secular, humanist philosophy that does not center belief in a supernatural deity. Founded in 1969, it supports affiliated congregations and communities across North America and trains lay leaders to conduct life-cycle ceremonies. Its headquarters are in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
