The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest Baptist denomination in the United States, a cooperative fellowship of autonomous local churches that share resources for missions, church planting, and theological education. It was founded in 1845 and its Executive Committee is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. The convention sponsors entities including the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board, and six seminaries.
