Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island, dedicated in 1763, is the oldest surviving synagogue building in the United States and a National Historic Landmark. Its resident congregation, Ahavath Israel, worships there under the auspices of Congregation Shearith Israel of New York, which owns the building. The synagogue is administered as a National Historic Site open to visitors.
