About

Union Church of Los Angeles is a historic Japanese-American congregation in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles, California, formed on February 7, 1918 through the merger of three Japanese-speaking congregations: the Los Angeles Presbyterian Church, the Los Angeles Congregational Church, and the Japanese Bethlehem Congregational Church. It is recognized today as an affiliated union congregation by both the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s own congregation directory and the United Church of Christ's own church directory, while describing itself as a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church. It is one of the oldest continuously operating Japanese-American churches in the United States.
