Florence Campbell's 1931 Your Days Are Numbered and Juno Jordan's 1965 systematisation both preserved Cheiro's reading of forty-seven; none of the three writers, working from name and birth-date charts, shows any awareness of the Euclidean forty-seventh proposition or the Chushingura, confirming what this family of articles finds repeatedly, that the twentieth-century American numerology and the older cultural and mathematical associations of the same numbers developed in complete independence of one another. Mathematically, forty-seven is a safe prime, of the form two times a smaller prime plus one, here twice twenty-three plus one, a property cryptographers value in certain key-generation schemes, though it has no bearing on either the ronin's story or the Euclidean theorem above.
