Traditions within Sikhism
This small group holds movements and sects within Sikhism, the religion founded in the Punjab by Guru Nanak and shaped by the ten Gurus and the scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. The mainstream is defined by allegiance to that scripture as the living Guru and by the practices established by the Khalsa.
The browser will find the sects and reform movements that have arisen within the tradition. The entries describe each in relation to mainstream Khalsa Sikhism, noting where a group's teachings or leadership have set it apart.
