The Violence Star
Seven Red is the system's standard example of a star whose reputation reverses entirely once its own ruling period has passed. During Period 7, which most commonly used dating places from 1984 to 2004, Seven Red was read as auspicious, associated with wealth gained through communication, entertainment and quick transactions befitting a metal star linked to the mouth and to speech. Once that period ended, the same star is read by the great majority of Xuan Kong practitioners as having turned inauspicious, now associated with robbery, injury, betrayal and scandal, a reversal treated as one of the clearest teaching examples in the whole system for why a flying star reading has to be re-timed for the present period rather than applied once and left standing.
The metal element it shares with Six White does not soften this reputation the way it might for a star whose difficulty is milder; robbery and violent injury are treated as belonging distinctly to Seven Red among the metal stars, separate from Six White's consistently steadier authority based reading.
