Tian Fu, the Treasury Star

Tian Fu, heavenly storehouse, is read in Zi Wei Dou Shu as the star of stability, accumulated resource and careful stewardship, a counterpart to Zi Wei's own authority that governs through conservation and steady management rather than through command and visible rule. Where Zi Wei is read as the emperor whose bearing sets the tone of a chart, Tian Fu is read closer to the trusted steward who keeps the emperor's own treasury in good order, a quieter but no less essential office, and the tradition's literature treats Tian Fu's people as naturally cautious, protective of what they already hold and disinclined toward the kind of risk taking some of the more assertive major stars favour.

The star's name, a storehouse or mansion where valuables are kept, gives it a strong association with security and with the Property and Wealth palaces specifically, where its presence is generally read as favourable, promising steady holding rather than either rapid loss or sudden gain. As leader of the second of the two founding star series, Tian Fu's own palace position must be calculated independently of Zi Wei's, using the birth data's own separate formula, so a complete chart requires both calculations before any of the fourteen major stars can be placed across the twelve palaces.
