Its Vimshottari ruler is Saturn, its presiding deity is Ahir Budhnya, the serpent of the deep, and its symbol is the back legs of a funeral cot. The name means the later auspicious feet. Where its pair Purva Bhadrapada carries fiery intensity, Uttara Bhadrapada carries depth, stillness, and the wisdom of the deep waters, the settled serpent coiled at the bottom of the ocean. Jyotisha reads it as a mansion of patience, restraint, and deep spiritual insight, classed as Manushya gana.
