Sheikh Ali Ramitani was born in the Ramitan area near Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Known for his skill at weaving cloth, he was often called Sheikh Nessac, meaning weaver. After studying religious science he received the succession, or tabligh, from Sheikh Mahmood Anjir Faghnawi as that master lay dying, and Ramitani's own disciples in turn observed him as the line's next master.
