Hadewijch, sometimes referred to as Hadewych or Hadewig of Brabant or of Antwerp, was a thirteenth century poet and mystic who probably lived in the Duchy of Brabant. Most of her surviving writings are in a Brabantian form of Middle Dutch and include visions, prose letters and poetry. She was one of the most important direct influences on the later mystic John of Ruysbroeck.
