John Climacus, also known as John of the Ladder, John Scholasticus or John Sinaites, was a Christian monk of the sixth and seventh centuries at the monastery on Mount Sinai, living from about 579 to 649. He is revered as a saint by both the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic churches.
