Karl E. H. Seigfried is a German-American double bassist, guitarist, composer, bandleader, writer and educator based in Chicago, known for performing across classical, jazz and avant-garde styles and for centering multiculturalism in his musical projects; critics have compared his double bass playing to that of Malachi Favors, Henry Grimes, Charlie Haden, Charles Mingus and Sirone. Outside of music, Seigfried writes and teaches as a Norse mythologist and serves as a gothi, a priest within modern Heathenry.
