Rajanaka Kshemaraja was a philosopher of the late tenth to early eleventh century and a disciple of Abhinavagupta, regarded as a master of tantra, yoga, poetics and dramaturgy. Little is known of his life or parentage, and his chief disciple was a sage known as Yogaraja. His major work, the Pratyabhijnahridayam, the Heart of Self-Recognition, sets out the central tenets of Pratyabhijna philosophy in a concise set of sutras for students, and holds a place in Kashmir Shaivite, or Trika, literature comparable to that of Sadananda's Vedantasara in Advaita Vedanta.
