Flower Communion is Unitarian Universalism's most distinctive congregational observance: each participant brings a flower, the flowers are combined into a shared bouquet during the service, and each person leaves with a different flower than the one they brought, a wordless enactment of the tradition's pluralism carried without a fixed creed or scripture. It is held alongside Water Communion, which similarly blends water each member brings into one shared vessel.
