Krishna's first answer to Arjuna's refusal to fight: the self cannot be slain. The typographical slip 'This in never born' for 'is never born' stands in the printed text and is reproduced rather than silently corrected. The parenthesis is Swarupananda's own note of a variant reading, and is his, not the Sanskrit.
