From the second creation account, which is older than the first and tells the story differently. The ASV prints the divine name as Jehovah, its most distinctive editorial choice, where most English Bibles print LORD. 'Living soul' renders nephesh chayyah, a phrase used of animals as well; it says the man became alive, not that he was given a soul.
