The wording of the Sabian symbol for this degree is not reproduced here. The phrasing in general circulation is Dane Rudhyar's, from An Astrological Mandala (1973), and stays in copyright until 2069. The atlas has withheld its own reading of the degree along with it, because that reading followed the copyrighted image closely enough to stand in for it. What remains is the degree itself, its sign, its decan and its term, which are facts about the zodiac and belong to nobody.

A Monster Rocket Exploding in Mid-Air Above a Crowd
A picture for this degree also survives from 1898, from Charubel's own independent series, published a generation before Jones's. He recorded a monster rocket exploding in mid-air above a crowd. Counting from Aquarius's start, this is the eleventh degree, placing it in the sign's second decan. Its decan is ruled by Mercury rather than Saturn, which colors the degree with something Aquarius does not supply on its own. The narrower term division belongs to Venus, a still finer layer of rulership laid across the sign and decan.
The 1925 origin of this degree is well documented: Marc Edmund Jones, working with the clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler in Balboa Park, San Diego, drew all 360 blank cards at random and recorded her impressions as they came. Jones published the set in 1953. The wording generally read today, however, belongs to Dane Rudhyar, who reworked it in 1973 for An Astrological Mandala, a book still under copyright and not quoted here. Aquarius is fixed air, a stubborn commitment to an idea or a group rather than to a single feeling. The point of tracking a degree this closely is not to predict an event but to place it exactly within Aquarius's span. Element and quality carry through every degree of Aquarius: it is a fixed air sign, and this degree inherits that basic temperament even as the decan and term add their own note.
Aquarius 11: The Rocket Above the Crowd
Charubel's image for this degree is spectacle with an edge of danger: a monster rocket exploding in mid-air above a crowd. The scale is emphasised twice, a monster rocket rather than a modest one, exploding rather than merely launching, and the crowd beneath it is watching from directly under the blast rather than from a safe remove, so the picture holds excitement and hazard in the same instant without resolving which will dominate. A rocket of this kind is built entirely for its final moment, all its structure and fuel spent purposefully on one brief burst of light meant to be seen by as many eyes as possible at once.
Read at the eleventh degree of Aquarius, the sign most associated with sudden collective illumination, the image is a fair likeness of how genuinely new ideas often arrive in public, not gradually but as a single dramatic detonation overhead that a great many people witness together and few forget, an announcement rather than a proposal. But the picture keeps the crowd directly beneath the blast, and that placement is the warning built into the excitement: a display large enough to dazzle a crowd is also large enough to do that crowd real harm if the engineering or the timing is wrong, and spectacle demands exactly the competence its glamour tends to make people forget to check. The shadow is a display staged for its own sake, all monster and no purpose beyond the flash. On a natal Uranus or Sun this degree tends to mark public breakthroughs, and its counsel is a pyrotechnician's: love the burst, but calculate the fall of the sparks before you light the fuse.
