An etching titled "The Blossoming of Aaron's Rod, from Old and New Testaments," by the German printmaker Augustin Hirschvogel, dated 1550. It illustrates Numbers 17, the rod of Aaron that alone among the tribal staffs budded, blossomed and bore almonds overnight, the sign confirming Aaron's priesthood. Held today by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Drawings and Prints department, under accession 53.512.1, The Elisha Whittelsey Collection, The Elisha Whittelsey Fund, 1953.
