A portrait print titled "Portrait of Menno Simons," an engraving and etching by Jan van de Velde II, 1613 to 1641, of the Frisian priest who broke with Rome in 1536 over infant baptism and the Mass, and whose followers were already being called Mennists by the 1540s. Held today by the Metropolitan Museum of Art under accession 34.84.5.
