This is the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church's own statement of its doctrinal basis, published on the denomination's own website; a custodian source describing what the denomination itself teaches, not an outside historian's account of it. Its own text states that these Articles are derived from the Church of England's Thirty-Nine Articles, which this atlas holds as a separate record, and abridged for American Methodists by John Wesley in 1784; citing this record alongside the Thirty-Nine Articles for the same doctrinal claim is the same Reformation-era confession counted twice across a documented abridgment, not two independent statements of doctrine. Use it for what the CME Church states as its own current doctrinal basis; it is not evidence for how the Thirty-Nine Articles themselves read, nor for Wesley's own 1784 Methodist abridgment, which this register does not hold as a separate intermediate record.
