Its strength is that it remains the standard reference framework cited across the study of evangelicalism, in Britain and beyond, decades after publication. Its limit is that the Quadrilateral was formulated from the British case specifically, so a claim applying it unmodified to evangelicalism in another national context should be checked against scholarship addressing that context directly.
