Strabo's Geography, in the Loeb Classical Library edition, is an ancient primary source read in a modern scholarly translation; the atlas leaves the publication year blank because Loeb reprints this ancient text across many editions and the specific printing consulted was not recorded. Its strength is that it is Strabo's own first century geographical account, an eyewitness and compiler's record of the ancient world. Its limit is the ordinary one for any ancient geographer: his own sources and travels were uneven, more reliable for regions he knew directly than for those he did not.
