The Kyogyoshinsho is Shinran's own foundational text of Jodo Shinshu, Pure Land Buddhism, setting out the doctrine of salvation through Amida Buddha's other power and faith rather than self effort. As Shinran's own primary composition it is the correct source for what the tradition's founder actually taught in his own words.
