Law and Religion UK's report, published 7 October 2015, on the Central Criminal Court's (the Old Bailey's) sentencing that day of Peter Ball, former Bishop of Lewes and later Bishop of Gloucester, then aged 83. He had pleaded guilty on 8 September 2015 to two counts of indecent assault, one against a boy aged 12 or 13 in 1978 and one against a man aged 19 or 20 in 1980 to 1982, and to one count of misconduct in public office spanning 1977 to 1992. Mr Justice Wilkie sentenced him to 32 months for the misconduct count and 15 months for the indecent assaults, to run concurrently, so 32 months in total.
