Maximinus Daza (Wikipedia)

A reference encyclopedia biography of Maximinus Daza, eastern Roman emperor from 310 to 313, recording that he largely ignored Galerius's April 311 edict of toleration and resumed persecution in the territories under his own control (Egypt, Syria and Asia Minor) later that year, making martyrs of bishops and other Christians through 311 and 312, promoting a pagan revival through temple restoration and priestly reorganization, and circulating anti-Christian propaganda including a forged Acts of Pilate under an edict issued at Tyre in May 312. It records that he accepted Galerius's edict only on the eve of his own defeat by Licinius at the Battle of Tzirallum on 30 April 313, and that after that defeat, shortly before his death at Tarsus, he issued his own edict restoring Christians' right of assembly, of building churches, and the return of confiscated property, formally ending the persecution in the eastern provinces roughly two years after it had already ended in the west.
