Dennis Tedlock's is a scholarly translation with commentary of the Kiche Maya Popol Vuh, and this record states its documented textual history honestly rather than presenting it as an unbroken ancient document: the text as it survives was composed in alphabetic script in the mid sixteenth century, after the conquest, and survives only through a copy made around 1701 by Francisco Ximenez, so this is a post-conquest recording of Maya narrative rather than a pre-conquest artifact itself. It does preserve pre-conquest narrative material that Classic period painted vessels independently corroborate, a real point of external confirmation this record notes. Use it for the content of Kiche Maya narrative as this translation renders the Ximenez copy; it is not itself a pre-conquest document, a distinction that matters for any claim about its exact antiquity.
