This is the Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1925, the statute enacted by the Legislature of the Punjab establishing the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and transferring control of historic Sikh gurdwaras from hereditary custodians to elected Sikh management. As the primary legislative text it is the correct source for the Act's own provisions and the date of its enactment. Its limit is that it is the law itself rather than a historical account of the Akali movement and the gurdwara reform struggle that produced it, so a claim about that surrounding history needs a scholarly source alongside this statute.

Reliability Tier1
Tier 1: the primary governing statute itself, the Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1925 (Punjab Act VIII of 1925), as consolidated with its amendments through 2003, read in full, all 161 sections, three schedules and every amendment footnote, from the Ministry of Home Affairs' own consolidated text (mha.gov.in). Chapter IX, Finances (sections 106 to 124), was read directly to settle whether SGPC funding runs to the institution or to the individual member. NotesYear of enactment appears in the title; the publication year of any particular printing is not recorded.
