The Iroquois in the American Revolution, Barbara Graymont's 1972 study from Syracuse University Press, A New York State Study, is the standard scholarly account of the Six Nations during the American Revolution, covering the Oneida's break from the other five nations to ally with the colonists, the 1779 Sullivan Campaign that destroyed Cayuga and Seneca towns, and the wartime roles of Cornplanter and the missionary Samuel Kirkland. Its strength is that it is a full length academic history from a respected state historical series, still the standard reference on the Six Nations' divided loyalties during the war. Its limit is that it is narrowly focused on the Revolutionary War years; the Confederacy's history before and after that period should be sought in dedicated sources for those periods.
