The Mesa Verde World: Explorations in Ancestral Puebloan Archaeology

This is an edited scholarly volume on the archaeology and religious life of Mesa Verde and related Ancestral Puebloan sites including Chaco Canyon, published by the School for Advanced Research Press and edited by David Grant Noble with contributions from specialist archaeologists in the field. Its strength is bringing together current expert scholarship on kivas and Puebloan ceremonial societies in one accessible volume. Its limit is one inherent to edited collections, coverage and depth vary by chapter depending on which contributor wrote a given section and what that contributor chose to emphasize, so a claim resting on this volume is best checked against which specific chapter and author it draws from rather than treated as a uniform single-authored account.
