Robert Fludd's encyclopaedic Utriusque Cosmi Historia, published by Johann Theodor de Bry beginning in 1617, is a primary source, Fludd's own account of his own practice. Its strength is that its De Geomantia section states Fludd's own defense of geomancy, at length, against the charge that it was demonic divination. Its limit is that it is one practitioner's own apologetic and encyclopaedic work, not an independent or scholarly account of the practice, and Fludd was writing to defend his own beliefs.
