At its 2026 Synod, held 3 to 6 June at New Philadelphia Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, under the theme Ever Transforming, Ever Renewing, the Moravian Church's Southern Province in America elected Andrea Williams as president of its Provincial Elders' Conference, the province's governing board between synods. Williams, a lay member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church who had served on the conference since her election at the 2022 Synod, became the first woman and the first lay person to hold the presidency in the province's history, for a term running to the 2030 Synod.
