Devotional stage works from African and African diaspora communities: Baba Aladura, Moses Orimolade Odyssey (a Nigerian stage musical retracing the life of the founder of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church) and Cocolo Dance Drama (the performance tradition of the Cocolo community of the Dominican Republic, descended from English-speaking Caribbean sugar workers). Belongs here: a devotional or festival performance work rooted in an African or African-diaspora community and its own religious or communal history. Does not belong here: a European or South Asian devotional tradition, however similar in function, held under its own regional heading.
