Juxtaposition Cross of Articulation (12/11)

The Juxtaposition Cross of Articulation is named for Gate 12 and Gate 11. Human Design reads Gate 12, from Hexagram 12, Standstill, sits in the Throat and is read as expression that arrives only in the right mood and the right moment, a caution that can look like reticence; and Gate 11, from Hexagram 11, Peace, sits in the Ajna and is read as a mind full of ideas and concepts that want to be told, though not necessarily acted on. Juxtaposition Crosses stand apart from the other two families, tied only to the four line one profile, and are read as the most fixed direction the system names.

Its design half is Gate 25 and Gate 46, both seated in the G, or Identity, centre. Gate 25 is read as an innocence that places universal love above particular attachment; it pairs with Gate 51 in the channel of Initiation. Gate 46 is read as a love of the body and a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time; it pairs with Gate 29 in the channel of Discovery.

So the cross joins a mind full of untold ideas, Gate 11, to expression that waits for its own moment, Gate 12, on the surface, while beneath both an Identity centre pair of innocence and bodily love carries the design half. The hexagrams are old texts; fixing them into one incarnation cross is the modern system's own construction, dated to 1987.

What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.

Gate 12, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Gate 11, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Behind them, Gate 25 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind, and Gate 46 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding.

So the moment-bound expression and the untold ideas the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of form and transformation, while the universal innocence and the love of the body beneath them answer to the arcs of mind and bonding. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Ideas, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Education, both orderings. Unlike most of its cohort, this cross has no Right Angle kin at all: no Right Angle cross anywhere in the corpus is built from either of its two personality gates, the same absence already found this batch on the Cross of Commitment. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc, yet no third family claims this particular pair.
