Systems assembled in the twentieth century by combining older ones: Human Design, which merges the I Ching, astrology, the chakras and the Tree of Life into a single chart, and the Gene Keys, which builds on it. Overview
Scope of This SectionTwentieth-century authored systems that synthesise or rework older traditions, the I Ching, the chakra teaching, Kabbalah, astrology and the Maya day-count, into new frameworks presented under new names. Each is the work of identifiable modern authors rather than a received tradition, and each is held apart from the genuine tradition it borrows from. 1 Categories in This Section

Systems built by combining older ones
This section holds systems assembled in the twentieth century by fusing several older ones into a single scheme: Human Design, which merges the I Ching, astrology, the chakras and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life into one chart, and the Gene Keys, which builds further on it.
They are presented here as contemporary constructions with named authors and datable origins, rather than as inherited traditions. Their interest lies partly in how thoroughly they weave together material the rest of the atlas treats separately.

Named authors, datable origins
Human Design was formulated in the late 1980s by Ra Uru Hu (Robert Alan Krakower), who reported receiving it in 1987 and combined the sixty-four I Ching hexagrams, the astrological placements, a nine-centre adaptation of the chakras, and the Tree of Life into the bodygraph. The Gene Keys were set out by Richard Rudd in 2009, mapping the same sixty-four hexagrams onto a progression from shadow to gift to siddhi.
The atlas describes these systems and their components, noting at each point which older tradition a given element is drawn from, so a reader can see the synthesis for what it is.
