Juxtaposition Cross of Fantasy (41/31)

The Juxtaposition Cross of Fantasy is named for Gate 41 and Gate 31. Human Design reads Gate 41, from Hexagram 41, Decrease, as the pressure of feeling that starts a cycle before there is anything to experience, and Gate 31, from Hexagram 31, Influence, as leadership through influence, followed because it is recognised rather than commanded. Juxtaposition Crosses are set apart from the Right Angle and Left Angle families, reserved for the four line one profile, and read as fixed almost past the point of alternative.

Its design half is Gate 44 and Gate 24. Gate 44 sits in the Spleen and is read as an instinctive memory for people and patterns, a nose for who can be relied on; elsewhere it pairs with Gate 26 in the channel of Surrender. Gate 24 sits in the Ajna and is read as a mind circling the same thought repeatedly until it finally resolves; it pairs with Gate 61 in the channel of Awareness.

So the cross opens with an anticipating pressure before there is anything to anticipate, Gate 41, and an elected voice, Gate 31, while beneath both an instinctive read on people answers to a mind still working its own thought through. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping them into one incarnation cross is the modern system's own construction.

Gate 31, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Behind them, Gate 44 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding, and Gate 24 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind.

So the anticipating pressure and the recognised influence the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of transformation and form, while the instinctive read on people and the circling, resolving mind beneath them answer to the arcs of bonding and mind. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Influence, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of the Alpha, both orderings. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
