This article records tradition as it has been passed down and reported. Its sources are not yet part of the atlas's verified catalogue.
The Juxtaposition Cross of Fates is named here for Gate 30 and Gate 29. Its first article reads Gate 30 as the longing and intensity of feeling that pulls a person into experience, now the more exposed gate, and Gate 29 as a yes that, once given, perseveres to the end whatever the cost. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 30, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 29, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 34 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 20 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the pulling longing and the perseverant yes the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the raw power and the immediate awareness beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form, the same two design gates the Juxtaposition Cross of Power carries as its own personality half. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Commitment, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Industry, both orderings. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
