This article records tradition as it has been passed down and reported. Its sources are not yet part of the atlas's verified catalogue.
The Juxtaposition Cross of Ideas is named here for Gate 11 and Gate 12, a mind full of untold ideas exposed ahead of an expression that waits for its moment. Its first article reads Gate 11 as ideas and concepts that want to be told though not necessarily acted on, now the more exposed gate, and Gate 12 as expression that arrives only in the right mood and the right moment. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 11, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Gate 12, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Behind them, Gate 25 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind, and Gate 46 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding.
So the untold ideas and the waiting expression the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of transformation and form, while the impersonal love and the love of the body beneath them answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, the same four gates the Left Angle Cross of Education carries under a different family, and its own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Articulation, also draws on the same four arcs however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
