This article records tradition as it has been passed down and reported. Its sources are not yet part of the atlas's verified catalogue.
The Juxtaposition Cross of Moods is named here for Gate 55 and Gate 59. Its first article reads Gate 55 as an emotional weather swinging between melancholy and abundance for reasons the person cannot usually name, now the more exposed gate, and Gate 59 as the energy that breaks down barriers between people. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 55, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 59, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 9 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 16 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the swinging emotional weather and the barrier-dissolving intimacy the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the attention to small detail and the skill built through repetition beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Strategy, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Spirit, both orderings; the Right Angle family carries the identical pair too, as the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix, both orderings, the same family this batch already found beneath the Cross of the Now. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
