Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity (46/25)

The Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity carries the same four gates as the Left Angle Cross of Healing, held here in the fixed Juxtaposition family instead. Human Design reads Gate 46, from Hexagram 46, Pushing Upward, as a love of the body and a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time, the trait practitioners call serendipity, seated in the G, or Identity, centre; and Gate 25, from Hexagram 25, Innocence, as an innocence that places universal love above particular attachment, also seated in the G, or Identity, centre. Juxtaposition Crosses stand apart from the other two families, tied only to the four line one profile, and are read as the most fixed direction the system names.

Its design half is Gate 52 and Gate 58, both seated in the Root, unchanged from the Cross of Healing's own design half. Gate 52 is read as a stillness that concentrates rather than releases, holding a person still long enough for perspective to form. Gate 58 is read as vitality and the joy of being alive, expressed as an urge to improve whatever is at hand.

Where the Left Angle reading serves something handed back by circumstance, the Juxtaposition reading holds the same love of the body and Root stillness as fixed to the four line one profile rather than assigned by fate. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping them into one fixed cross is the modern system's own construction.

The Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity is named here for Gate 46 and Gate 25. Its first article reads Gate 46 as a love of the body and a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time, now the more exposed gate, and Gate 25 as an innocence that places universal love above particular attachment. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.

Gate 46, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Gate 25, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Behind them, Gate 52 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form, and Gate 58 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation.

So the fortunate body and the universal innocence the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of bonding and mind, while the concentrated stillness and the exposed joy beneath them answer to the arcs of form and transformation. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Innocence, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Healing, both orderings; the Right Angle family carries the identical pair too, as the Cross of the Vessel of Love, in this one live ordering only, not both. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
