Left Angle Cross of Education (12/11)

The Left Angle Cross of Education is named for Gate 12 and Gate 11. Human Design reads Gate 12, from Hexagram 12, Standstill, sitting in the Throat, as expression that arrives only in the right mood and the right moment, a caution that can look like reticence; and Gate 11, from Hexagram 11, Peace, sitting in the Ajna, as a mind full of ideas and concepts that want to be told, though not necessarily acted on. It belongs to the Left Angle family, read as transpersonal, a direction practitioners describe as answering less to personal choice than to what circumstance hands the individual.

Its design half is Gate 25 and Gate 46, both seated in the G, or Identity, centre. Gate 25 is read as an innocence that places universal love above any particular attachment; it pairs with Gate 51 in the channel of Initiation. Gate 46 is read as a love of the body and a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time; it pairs with Gate 29 in the channel of Discovery.

So a chart carrying this cross holds a cautious voice over a mind full of untold ideas on its surface, while beneath it a single Identity centre carries both an impersonal innocence and a love of the body. The same four gates also underlie the Juxtaposition Cross of Articulation and the Juxtaposition Cross of Ideas. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping them into one transpersonal cross is the modern system's own construction, dated to 1987.

Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
